Ogden Branch of the NAACP hosting its 70th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on October 18, 2014
Contact: Rev. Stanley Ellington, Banquet Committee Chair
Ogden Branch of the National Association For the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is hosting its 70th annual Freedom Fund Banquet “All in for Justice and Equality” on Saturday, October 18, 2014 with the doors opening at 6:00 p.m. This fundraising event will be held at Ogden Comfort Suites Hotel on 2250 South 1200 West (I-15 N, 21st street exit).
The NAACP is the oldest, largest, most respected and effective civil right organization in this nation, because it has improved the social, economic, and political conditions for African-Americans and other minorities more than any other organization in the history of America. The Ogden Branch was officially chartered in 1943, and since has made positive quality-of-life changes for the citizens that live in the Weber and Davis County.
The guest speaker for the evening is the Honorable Shauna Graves-Robertson. Judge Graves-Robertson presides in the Salt Lake County Justice Court. The Ogden branch will also recognize individuals that promoted “justice and equality” in Weber and Davis County.
The local community is invited to attend this annual event by purchasing a single ticket at $40.00 per person or a table with seating for eight people at $600.00. The purchase of a table also includes a quarter-page advertisement space in our souvenir journal.
To get more information about this event please call the Branch President, Mr. Joseph Nicholas, at 801.540.1926; or the Banquet Committee Chair, Rev. Stanley Ellington, at 801.678.7640.
